Renata Jonscher
Renata Jonscher is Polish born and had originally classically
been trained in Cieszyn and after that, in Strasbourg and London.
When she was twenty she started her professional career as a soloist in Poland with the hugely popular Slask folk
ensemble. She has since performed all through Europe.
Her shows feature a extensive repertoire, which range from
classical and folk to conventional and religious songs. She was called Young Vocalist of the Year in the
Province of Katowice in 1993, and in 1998 acquired the Silver Medal of the Republic of Poland for her
contribution to musical culture.
She has carried out several concerts, radio and television
broadcasts and commercial recordings. In 2000 she introduced her latest CD personally to Pope John Paul II.
Then in 2001, as a Sony Classical Artist, she recorded an album to celebrate the life work of the notable
Polish composer Stanislaw Hadyna.
The year 2006 sees Renata, residing in
London, focusing on a new recording of entirely original material. Her CD 'Entelechy' is classed as the fruit of her cooperation with composer Patrick Wilson and lyricist Tim
Williams.
Her music video 'Islands of Sorrow' happens to be showcased on Classic FM TV.
